April 2019 Specific Skill Visa has been enacted!
Government policy on labor shortages and job openings
In order to cope with the shortage of domestic workers due to the declining population, declining birthrate and aging population, the government has extended the retirement age (increased pension payments), reduced labor using robots and devices, unmanned delivery using AI technology, We have a policy of actively hiring human workers.
Japan’s declining working population and the acceptance of foreign nationals from developed countries
As a part of this policy, a new work visa “Specific Skill Visa” was launched in April 2019 for the first time for simple work. The current plan is to accept 345,000 workers by 2024.
We will introduce “Specific Skill Visa” workers from Philippines and Vietnam to Japanese companies.
