Standards, qualifications, and obligations required for residence status “Specific Skill No. 1”
“Specific skill No. 1” is a status of residence for accepting foreign human resources for working purposes, which starts in April 2019.
Target foreigners will enter Japan after confirming their skill level and Japanese language ability level through tests.
You can hire for up to 5 years at a nursing home.
After returning to Japan after 5 years, if you obtain the national qualification of a care worker, you can change to the status of residence “caregiver” and work permanently.
Note that the technical intern trainees who have completed the course up to the third year are exempt from the examination required for “Specific Skill 1”.
Japanese ability required for foreign caregivers
Confirmed the following Japanese language proficiency level through tests before entering Japan
・Ability to have a degree of daily conversation and not hinder life
・Japanese proficiency required to work in nursing care settings
※Those who have completed three years of technical training or those who have completed a nursing care worker training facility are assumed to meet the required Japanese language ability level and are exempt from the examinations, etc.
Skills required for foreign caregivers
Confirmed the following skill level through tests before entering Japan
・Standards required to work properly in the accepting industry
